The Town of Garner has for over 50 years awarded the prestigious title of "Miss Garner", the title holders continuing on to the Miss North Carolina contest, and potentially a spot representing the state in the Miss America Competition itself!

 

Miss Garner 2023 - Chandra Manivannan

Chandra Manivannan is a recent graduate of North Carolina State University, where she majored in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics with a minor in Spanish. Since graduating in 2020, she has worked as a technology consultant at Accenture in Raleigh, NC. She specializes in government, public service, and higher education consulting as well as financial services consulting. Some of her recent projects include working on Accenture's State of North Carolina Client Account, where she worked to improve data services for multiple statewide agencies. At the undergraduate level, Chandra was involved with the Goodnight Scholars Program (a STEM outreach and scholarship program).

In her free time, she enjoys attending and teaching dance workshops as well as competing within the Miss North Carolina/Miss America Organization, which promotes scholarship and leadership in local communities. Chandra will be serving as Miss Garner for the 2022-23 year, allowing her to promote her social impact initiatives Selena, an online platform supporting survivors of intimate partner violence.”

Miss Garner's Outstanding Teen 2023 - Savanna Holland

Savanna Holland is a sophomore at Eno River Academy High School. She is 15 years old and a competitive dancer at Hillsborough Cheer, Dance and Gymnastics. Her love for dance started at the age of 3 and has stuck with her ever since. Her Social Impact Initiative is Donating for DBA (Diamond-Blackfan Anemia) where she promotes the importance for blood donation and spreads awareness for rare blood disease. She strives honor her Nana, who was a 65 year survivor, thanks to the gift of life through blood donations. Savanna’s goal for the upcoming year as Miss Garners Outstanding Teen is to register 50 new blood donors throughout the community.
