Cee Cee Huffman was crowned
Garner's Carolina Princess 2008 at the Little Miss Garner
Pageant in March. She says when she was crowned Garner's
Carolina Princess "it was a dream come true.I had been preparing
for this all year long."
Cee Cee is the eleven year old daughter of Adam and Anita
Huffman. She is in the fifth grade and is home schooled through
Calvert School in Baltimore, Maryland and was nominated to
attend the National Young Scholars Program recognizing academic
achievement and leadership potential. Cee Cee's favorite subject
in school is art history. She especially likes learning about
the artists of the past and how they have influenced what art is
today. Some people say that she is lucky that she doesn't have
any homework, since she is home schooled. "Actually," she says,
"all my work is homework!"
Cee Cee's hobbies include dancing, singing, and playing the
piano and she has won numerous performance awards. She is on the
Center Stage Of Garner dance competition teams and in the
Johnston County Home schoolers chorus. She takes piano lessons
from Dara Edwards and voice lessons from Julie Stewart of
Clayton. When not busy with schoolwork and lessons, Cee Cee
enjoys volunteering with such organizations as the Children's
Miracle Network, National Night Out, the North Carolina Theatre
Curtain Callers, and has won a community service award for her
work with the Me Fine Foundation, which helps families of
children receiving treatment at Duke and UNC hospitals. She also
spends her free time on her laptop, playing the Wii, riding her
bike and shooting basketball, as well as spending time with her
family and playing with her little brother Walt. |

Cee Cee enjoys all aspects of pageantry. It is her hope, that
through participating in pageantry, that she will not only
develop poise and self confidence, sharpen her interview skills
and develop her ability to speak in public, but that she will be
given a unique opportunity to use her gifts and abilities for
the common good. She loves performing for people, and feels that
sharing her talents is one of the best ways to serve her
community, which is a very big part of wearing a crown. She
knows that becoming Garner's Carolina Princess is an important
job and truly appreciates the opportunity to use the title to
set a good example for other young people and to help promote
Garner and all it has to offer as well as to give back to her
community through volunteerism.
"I look forward to an exciting year shadowing Miss Garner 2008,
Amanda Watson and participating in the Miss North Carolina
pageant. I know it will be a year of learning new things,
meeting new people, and making some wonderful memories." |
