Garner's Outstanding Teen 2008 - Jessica Carter

Jessica is the 14 year old daughter of David and Donna Carter. Jessica is a freshman at South Johnston High School. She began singing in her church when she was only 5 years old and has been singing ever since. She has been a guest performer on the country music showcase and performed several character roles in a local theater. Along with singing she also enjoys dance, cheering, and piano.

Jessica has been involved the Outstanding Teen program since age13. She participated in the North Carolina Outstanding Teen pageant in 2006 where she finished 4th runner up and was a preliminary talent winner.

She feels extremely blessed to have the title of Garner’s Outstanding Teen 2008 and the opportunity to represent such a wonderful town and community. She believes this title can greatly help her continue to inform the public of community platform ‘Saving Gods Angels-Broadening the community awareness of child abuse’. She would like to thank all of the town organization and businesses as well as the entire Garner committee for all their support.

Garner's Outstanding Teen Pageant invites young women between the ages of 13-17 who are not yet a senior to become a contestant in 2009 Pageant to be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008.

Participation in Garner's Outstanding Teen program provides a unique opportunity for young ladies to gain valuable pageant experience as well as life skills. The competition is intended to encourage and reward scholastic achievement, communication skills, talent, and community service.  This Preliminary is open to Residents of Wake, Johnston, Orange, Durham, Vance & Franklin counties.  Contestants must be a legal resident or a full time student in one of the counties for at least 6 months. All rehearsals are mandatory and will begin October 5, 2008.

The areas of competition include:
Private interview, talent presentation, evening gown, and physical fitness.

The winner will receive a crown, trophy, $200.00 Savings Bond, and her competition entry fees paid for her to compete for North Carolina's Outstanding Teen Title in June 2009. North Carolina's Outstanding Teen will then go on to compete for the national title of Miss America Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida in August 2009.
